Maverick Markus Fjørtoft joins Crowdmanager as Regional Manager UK/Ireland

Professional footballer and Duke University alumnus Markus Fjørtoft and his company TwentyOne AS is set to take care of Crowdmanager’s business in the UK and Ireland.

Born in Swindon, where his father Jan Åge Fjørtoft played football professionally, Markus has made himself quite a maverick.

He played college soccer for Duke in North Carolina, US, but former clubs also include New Zealand’s Southern United and Norwegian side Bærum as well as other Scottich clubs.

Based in Scotland, where he plays for Championship club Ayr United FC, Markus will act as Crowdmanager’s Regional Manager for UK/Ireland.

I am looking forward to working with the clubs and sports brands around the UK and Ireland. Obviously, the fan culture and the attachment to clubs is massive here, and there’s a great potential for even closer connection between the brands and fans. As a player and a sports fan myself, I think I know a thing or two about the passionate relationship that Crowdmanager harvests every day.

This September, he will feature in a sports reality TV series on Norwegian television (no. lang.) along with his dad, Jan Åge. He also runs his own podcast, BroPod together with his friend Ciaran McKenna.

Says Crowdmanager CEO Kenneth Akselsen:

I’m so excited Markus wanted to team up with us. He has the network and the understanding we are looking for in a job like his. We’ve been looking for a more substantial footprint in the UK and Ireland for a long time, and this is the perfect solution for us.
